How Anvil Road got built
We do not write founder stories that did not happen. Here is the actual one, in plain order, with the actual dollar amounts.
Anvil Road LLC went from name to working business in one day. NJ filing through Northwest Registered Agent. EIN from the IRS in 10 minutes. Virtual address at 971 US Highway 202 N #N, Branchburg NJ 08876. Google Workspace at anthony@anvilroad.com. D-U-N-S 144998774 through Dun and Bradstreet. Apple Developer enrollment kicked off the same afternoon.
Total day-one cost: 169 dollars for the Northwest bundle (LLC formation, virtual address, registered agent) plus 7 dollars a month for Workspace. Not 3,000. Not 10,000. The math wins because the virtual address is included in the bundle and the EIN is free directly from the IRS.
The naming took longer than the filing. Eighty-five plus options across multiple rounds before Anvil Road won. Builder energy without being on the nose. Memorable in one telling. Works across apps, books, services, and any future expansion. Two syllables, no spelling traps, and the .com was available.
The one roadblock: a previous owner of anvilroad.com had a dormant Google Workspace account tied to the domain. Filed a case with Google. Resolution took 24 hours. That was the slowest part of the whole launch.
